The UN Refugee Agency depends on voluntary contributions from people like you to provide critical refugee programs around the world.
"The level of destruction we're seeing reported is absolutely staggering," said High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres. "Although UNHCR's work is usually focused on conflict-related situations, the exceptional nature of this tragic situation requires all possible efforts to get help to people in need, and we will play our full part in the common response to assist those affected."
UNHCR, along with other international agencies, is working closely with the Government of the Philippines to reach those affected by the super typhoon, as the number of reported casualties continues to rise and access remains a challenge in many areas.
UNHCR is urgently coordinating an airlift of emergency supplies for distribution to the millions of people still in need in the areas affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Lifesaving supplies include: plastic sheeting, blankets, bedding, clothing, jerry cans and kitchen sets.
Please make a donation today and help UNHCR continue to provide emergency relief to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
